Controversial Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has characterized the act of begging as an obstacle to achieving one’s full potential.
He emphasized the necessity of cultivating a mindset that rejects begging, as it restricts individuals from realizing their capabilities. Furthermore, he advocated for the importance of identifying, developing, and monetizing one’s skills, asserting that greatness cannot be attained through begging.
Yul wrote on his Instagram page:
“Sometimes tell yourself, ‘I will not beg’.
No matter how difficult things are, if you form the habit of begging all the time, you will never reach your full potential.
Sometimes, God sends tough times to challenge you to dig deep within you. Find the legit skills He has blessed you with, develop and monetize them.
Unfortunately some people will rather beg than hustle. You can never become great by begging.”
In other news, Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) contestant, Angel JB Smith, has responded to critics who suggested that her recent weight loss was a result of using the Ozempic drug.
During an Instagram live session on January 18, 2025, Angel Smith displayed her noticeably slimmer physique, crediting her transformation to regular gym workouts and abstaining from alcohol.
However, her significant weight loss has elicited mixed reactions on social media. While some users commended her commitment to fitness, others speculated that her weight loss could be attributed to the use of Ozempic, a medication prescribed for weight management in diabetic patients.
In response to these speculations, Angel took to X to address her detractors, urging them to “give it a rest.”
She emphasized that her body transformation is the result of diligent effort and healthy lifestyle choices. Angel Smith stated:
“You weirdo lame ass hoes have been speaking on my body since 2021, give it a rest.
“Someone can not go to the gym and stop drinking alcohol without you all coming on here with your ugly ass lips talking about some Ozempic, shut up and stop speaking on my body.”
In March 2024, Angel Smith also criticized those who made a spectacle of her rumored breakup with Somadina Anyama, a fellow contestant. She further defended herself against accusations of not supporting Soma’s ex-girlfriend, who had alleged that he committed assault.
