Woman slams mini sweeping robot she ordered online

A Nigerian woman has expressed her frustration after ordering a mini sweeping robot online, which she humorously dubbed “roboske” for its failure to sweep and instead, dance.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she shared the name of the platform from which she made the purchase, explaining how excited she was about her order, only to be disappointed by the robot’s performance.

She recounted that during its first use, the robot failed to meet expectations, opting to dance rather than sweep.

The woman had envisioned herself relaxing in bed while the robot took care of cleaning, but her hopes were dashed when the device didn’t perform as expected.

In her lengthy post, she wrote: “I ordered that mini automatic sweeping robot from Temu, and it arrived today. Let me warn you guys now, that thing isn’t a robot, it’s roboske. It just roams around your house, dancing salsa, not sweeping a thing. Remove it from your cart immediately 😭😭.”

When I placed the order for roboske, I was picturing myself lying on my bed while this little genius glided across the house like a futuristic housekeeper. 😭 Imagine the shock when they delivered this thing looking like one of those apoti they forgot to add legs to.”

Even though it came out of the box looking like it had doubts about its own existence, I still said, ‘No, let me not body shame.’ I turned it on, and instead of sweeping, it started spinning in circles like it was breakdancing.”

Then, it bumped into the bed and just gave up. Like, completely stopped. As if to say, ‘Wo, me I’m tired oo’.”

She humorously concluded, “If you live alone and need a housemate to hum and dance around aimlessly to keep the house from being too quiet, this is your guy. But if you’re expecting something that can sweep, forget it. Roborebe ni robot awon Temu kan se kiri.”

Adding to her disappointment, she pointed out a red flag in the product’s description, noting that the robot had “battery not include” in its description, revealing a flaw in the English and raising further doubts about the robot’s quality.

After sharing her experience, many concerned individuals flooded the post’s comment section to share their own thoughts on the situation.
