Woman Rants After I-Fitness Charges ₦59k To Activate Gym Plan She Won For Free

  • A Nigerian woman criticized I-Fitness for misleading advertising regarding gym membership fees.
  • She was charged ₦59,000 for a gym plan she thought was free.
  • The incident occurred during a promotional event for a new I-Fitness branch in Auchi.

A Nigerian woman has publicly criticized popular fitness chain I-Fitness, accusing the brand of misleading advertising after she was charged ₦59,000 for a gym plan she believed was free.

In a TikTok video, she detailed her experience at a promotional event held in anticipation of a new I-Fitness branch opening in Auchi. According to her, she participated in a game during the event and was declared the winner of a complimentary 30-day gym membership.

However, when she visited the gym to claim her prize, she was informed that activating the package would cost ₦59,000, ₦20,000 for membership activation and ₦38,000 for a basic monthly subscription that did not include a personal trainer.

“Why should I have to pay ₦59,000 for something that was advertised as free?” she asked in the video, expressing frustration over what she called a deceptive practice.

The video has since gone viral, sparking a wave of reactions online. While some users supported her claim and criticized the brand, others questioned the details of the promotion and called for clarification from I-Fitness.
