A Nigerian woman shared her disappointment after buying a mini sweeping robot online, which she playfully named “roboske.” Instead of cleaning, the robot just danced.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she mentioned the website where she bought it and expressed her excitement about the order, only to be let down by how it worked.
She described how, on its first try, the robot chose to dance instead of doing its job of sweeping.
he woman thought she would be able to relax in bed while the robot did the cleaning, but her hopes were ruined when the robot didn’t operate as she had hoped.
In her lengthy post, she wrote: “I ordered that mini automatic sweeping robot from Temu, and it arrived today. Let me warn you guys now, that thing isn’t a robot, it’s roboske. It just roams around your house, dancing salsa, not sweeping a thing. Remove it from your cart immediately 😭😭.”
“When I placed the order for roboske, I was picturing myself lying on my bed while this little genius glided across the house like a futuristic housekeeper. 😭 Imagine the shock when they delivered this thing looking like one of those apoti they forgot to add legs to.”
“Even though it came out of the box looking like it had doubts about its own existence, I still said, ‘No, let me not body shame.’ I turned it on, and instead of sweeping, it started spinning in circles like it was breakdancing.”
“Then, it bumped into the bed and just gave up. Like, completely stopped. As if to say, ‘Wo, me I’m tired oo’.”
She humorously concluded, “If you live alone and need a housemate to hum and dance around aimlessly to keep the house from being too quiet, this is your guy. But if you’re expecting something that can sweep, forget it. Roborebe ni robot awon Temu kan se kiri.”
She felt even more let down when she noticed a mistake in the product description. It said “battery not include,” which showed a problem with the English and made her question the robot’s quality.
After she shared her thoughts, many others commented to express their concerns too.
