Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has resolved to stay at Leicester City, despite interest from French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.
Monaco, currently third in Ligue 1 and eyeing a potential Champions League spot next season, considered securing the 28-year-old on loan with an option to buy.
However, Ndidi, who has been a key figure for the Foxes, is determined to help Leicester avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Leicester City sit seventeenth in the table, just one point above the drop zone, with 15 matches left.
Despite the challenging situation, Ndidi’s commitment remains firm, as no personal terms were even discussed with the French side, confirms All Nigeria Soccer.
The Nigerian international, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since a 2-2 draw against Brighton, is nearing full fitness and is expected to return soon to the dugout.
Ndidi’s loyalty to Leicester was also evident last summer when he rejected offers from Premier League and La Liga clubs to sign a contract extension until June 2027.
Since joining the Foxes, he has made 289 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals.
