Reality star Whitemoney reacted after being berated by media personality, Dotun, popularly known as Do2dtun, over his tribal remarks.
At the event, which took place on Sunday at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Whitemoney received the Afrobeats Single of the Year award on behalf of singer Flavour.

However, while accepting the award, Whitemoney stirred reactions when he stated he was receiving it “on behalf of the Igbos.”
Reacting via his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle, Do2dtun described Whitemoney’s statement as inappropriate for the occasion.
Reacting to the comment from Whitemoney, Dotun took to his page on X and wrote;
“On behalf of the igbos” I am sorry, that was so unnecessary. It didn’t need that type of narrative. It’s an award won by an African; for Afrobeat and a Nigerian.”
Reacting to Do2dtun’s post, Whitemoney went online to explain his side of things. He noted that he was only happy that an Igbo man won the award in a Yoruba-dominated genre – Afrobeat.
He also apologised to Flavour if receiving the award on his behalf had caused more harm than good.
