In response to the incident, social media commentator Daniel Regha has raised a question regarding whether the failure of the national grid impacts the other nations to which Nigeria supplies electricity.

He pointed out that many of these countries reportedly enjoy a continuous power supply for 24 hours, whereas certain regions in Nigeria experience less than 12 hours of electricity availability each day.

“When Power Grid collapses, does it affect Togo, Benin, Niger? Or only Nigerians suffer blackout? Let’s not also forget that these countries reportedly gets light “on a 24-hour basis” while some places in Nigeria barely see 12 hrs daily.”

In another post, Regha wrote on X:
“A country that supplies light to other countries but can’t brag of steady electricity; Deliberate problem.”
