Nigerian activist Mertins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, has been accused of attempting to flee the country amidst his ongoing legal battle with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to a movie star, friends of the activist are reportedly plotting to help him escape Nigeria, with plans to secretly transport him to Ghana.
In response to these claims, actor Uche Maduagwu urged both the Nigerian immigration authorities and the EFCC to stay vigilant and prevent the outspoken activist from carrying out his alleged plans.
In an earlier report, former Big Brother Naija housemate Aderombi Adedayo Martin, also known as Deeone, commented on the recent release of Verydarkman, expressing concerns over the activist’s involvement in future legal issues. Deeone warned that the activist’s supporters, referred to as “Ratels,” should not cause further trouble. He cautioned that if they disregarded his advice, VDM would face similar legal challenges down the line.
Deeone also emphasized that VDM is still facing serious financial crime charges from the EFCC, with upcoming court appearances to answer these allegations. The comedian advised the activist to brace himself for the trial.
It’s worth noting that Deeone and Verydarkman have had a strained relationship, with Deeone frequently mocking the activist, especially after the loss of his TikTok account, where he previously called out both the “Ratels” and the activist.
