A 19-year-old new mother and her infant son are currently hospitalized following a distressing delivery.
The child was born in Anambra on May 22, to the young mother who had concealed her pregnancy from her relatives.
It is reported that the young mother gave birth while she was alone at home and allegedly inflicted a stab wound to the baby’s throat. Subsequently, she discarded him in a gutter.
However, a child who witnessed the incident raised the alarm, prompting residents to rescue the infant and locate the mother.
They discovered her alone at home, bleeding.
Both the mother and the child were swiftly transported to the hospital, as reported by Chinenye Henrietta, who shared the story and video on Facebook.
While some individuals assert that the woman intentionally stabbed the baby to eliminate him, other witnesses contend that it was an accident. They stated that the girl, while attempting to cut the placenta, inadvertently stabbed herself in her genital area and also mistakenly slashed the baby’s throat.
