Famed Hausa singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara thrilled a large audience in Katsina with a live performance of his newest release, ‘Omo Ologo’ (meaning ‘Child of Glory’), a song specially dedicated to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The performance took place during President Tinubu’s two-day working visit to Katsina State, which began on Friday. The visit is part of the administration’s renewed efforts to address worsening insecurity in the region and to launch key development projects aimed at improving the lives of residents.
Katsina, which is the home state of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has been heavily affected by a surge in violent crimes, including frequent attacks by bandits and a rise in kidnappings. The escalating insecurity has sparked concern among citizens and government officials alike, prompting more proactive federal intervention.
As part of his itinerary, President Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the new Katsina Agricultural Mechanisation Centre—a project designed to boost agricultural productivity and support local farmers. In addition, he is slated to attend the wedding of the daughter of the state governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, before concluding his trip and returning to Abuja.
In a video that quickly went viral on social media, Rarara is seen performing his upbeat tribute while President Tinubu and Governor Radda look on approvingly, clapping along and smiling throughout the performance. The moment captured the celebratory atmosphere of the visit while also highlighting the cultural and political significance of music in northern Nigeria.
