Dr. Abel Damina, founder of Abel Damina Ministries International (ADMI), has reignited debate within religious circles after declaring that tithes and offerings are not sent to God but are instead used entirely by people.
In a viral video taken from one of his recent Sunday sermons, Damina stated unequivocally that no offering or tithe collected in churches goes to heaven, challenging long-standing doctrines upheld by many pastors.
“No offering goes to heaven. Every offering we collect is used by men. All the offerings we give to God go to men.” he said during the service.
Known for his unconventional and often controversial views, Dr. Damina has consistently questioned mainstream Christian teachings. In this instance, he took a firm stand against what he called the “manipulation” of congregants through the doctrine of tithing.
“Those tithe m0ngers who say the windows of heaven will open when you pay tithes are lying. The doors have been open since Jesus rose from the dead. They collect from everyone but don’t give to anyone. I was there; I know how it works.”
His comments have stirred strong reactions on social media, with many supporting his boldness in addressing what they see as abuse within the church, while others criticize his statements as misleading or disrespectful to religious tradition.
Dr. Abel Damina is known for his in-depth biblical teachings and has built a reputation as a preacher who emphasizes Christ-centered doctrine over institutional practices. This latest statement adds to his long list of challenges to orthodox Christianity in Nigeria and beyond.
