A Caucasian woman residing in the United States has issued a passionate appeal to the Nigerian government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), demanding the immediate release of outspoken Nigerian social media activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM).
As previously reported by Gistlover, VeryDarkMan—well known for his bold commentary on social and political matters—has been in EFCC custody, sparking a wave of online protests and widespread criticism.
Joining the chorus of support is a woman who identifies herself as “Mama with the Big Bag.” In a video statement shared online, she accused the EFCC of unlawfully detaining a man who represents the voice of the masses. She issued a stark warning, stating that if VeryDarkMan is not released by the evening of Monday, May 5, she will escalate the matter to U.S. military authorities.
“To the CEO of GTBank and EFCC, I am the Mama with the Big Bag. This is a direct contact from the United States of America. Free Verydarkman by Monday evening, or a letter will be sent by the US military. This is a warning and not an AI video,” she declared.

Adding to the international pressure, a Chinese national named Ross Boss also spoke out from China, urging the EFCC to reconsider their actions. He described VeryDarkMan as “a voice for the voiceless,” and shared how the activist once helped him recover funds lost to an online scam involving a Tanzanian fraudster.
Ross Boss expressed his appreciation for VDM’s intervention in the matter and emphasized the positive impact the social commentator has had on countless lives. He called on the EFCC to acknowledge VDM’s societal contributions and release him without delay.
The growing support from foreign nationals underscores the global attention the case has attracted, as pressure continues to mount on Nigerian authorities to justify or end the controversial detention.
