Osimhen eyes victory as Galatasaray aim to end winless run at Alanyaspor

Victor Osimhen will be keen to help Galatasaray return to winning ways when they visit Alanyaspor this weekend.

The Turkish champions are looking to snap a frustrating four-game winless run across all competitions.

Last week’s 1-1 draw against Kasimpasa cut Galatasaray’s lead at the top of the Turkish Super Lig to just four points, with fierce rivals Fenerbahce closing in.

With the title race tightening, Okan Buruk’s side cannot afford another setback, especially in back-to-back away fixtures.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray have historically dominated Alanyaspor, winning 13 of their 21 meetings, while Alanyaspor have managed just five victories.

The Cimbom have been solid defensively, keeping three clean sheets in their last five matches, but their failure to secure wins has raised concerns.

Alanyaspor, meanwhile, have struggled for consistency, picking up just six points from their last five games, with two scoreless outings.

Osimhen, who scored twice against Kasimpasa, has now netted 16 league goals, just two behind leading scorer Krzysztof Piatek (18 goals).

Impressively, the Nigerian striker is outperforming his Expected Goals (xG) tally (15.13), proving his efficiency in front of goal despite this being his debut season in Turkey.

While Dries Mertens, Mario Lemina and Davinson Sanchez provide crucial support across the pitch, Osimhen remains Galatasaray’s most lethal weapon.
