Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has opened up about undergoing leg surgery after silently dealing with pain for an extended period.

In a candid Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the 35-year-old revealed her journey to recovery through a video montage. The clip showed different phases of her healing process—from hospital visits and using crutches to getting X-rays and spending time with loved ones.

Despite her condition, Omowunmi continued to show up for work and attend public events, even while struggling behind the scenes.

“Sometimes we smile through the pain so convincingly that no one sees the storm we’re facing,” she wrote. “For so long, I pushed through the discomfort, walking through film sets and public events like everything was fine, but deep down I was struggling.”

Eventually, she made the tough decision to have surgery, which she described as both a humbling and life-changing moment.

“The idea of not being able to do basic things—walk freely, use the bathroom without help—was overwhelming. But God carried me through it. I’m still on the journey, but my healing is unfolding beautifully,” she added.

Omowunmi also expressed deep appreciation for those who supported her throughout the experience.

“To my amazing doctors, thank you for your dedication. To my friends who checked in, visited, and reminded me I wasn’t alone—thank you. And to my family, your strength gave me strength,” she said.

The actress continues to shine in the industry, recently starring in titles like Ada Omo Daddy (2023), The Origin: Madam Koi-Koi (2023), Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti (2024), Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024), Finding Me (2025), and Family Brouhaha (2025).
