The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, has confirmed the capture of Obi Levi Obieze Ezeani, also known as E Dey Play or E Dey Show, who was previously declared wanted by the Enugu State Police Command.

Ezeani, originally from Umuojor village in Isiagu Community, Enugu State, faces allegations related to the kidnapping, abduction, and ritual murder of a 13-year-old girl.

The victim was reportedly abducted on May 27, 2025, while walking to their farm with her father. Law enforcement officers later found her at a shrine believed to be connected to Ezeani.

In a statement issued on Thursday by ACI AS Akinlabi, Public Relations Officer of NIS, the suspect was stopped by the Lagos State Border Patrol Command at the Gbaji checkpoint on the Badagry-Seme Road while trying to escape the country on a motorcycle.

“Based on credible intelligence, Obi Levi Obieze was arrested by alert officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service. His identity was verified using a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip found on him,” the statement confirmed.

Preliminary questioning revealed that Ezeani admitted to involvement in the alleged offenses.

The Nigeria Immigration Service is collaborating closely with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure the suspect is handed over for further investigation and legal proceedings.

NIS also emphasized its dedication to enhancing border security measures to prevent criminals from using illegal routes to avoid arrest and prosecution.
