Joseph Aloba, the father of the late artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has publicly addressed the allegations made by his daughter-in-law, Omowunmi Aloba, during her recent interview regarding the circumstances surrounding his son’s untimely death.
In her emotionally charged discussion with media figure Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi presented distressing assertions about the events leading to her husband’s demise. She claimed that a nurse had administered an injection that resulted in a severe adverse reaction in Mohbad. Wunmi further alleged that Joseph Aloba was present on the day of Mohbad’s passing and obstructed efforts by her husband’s manager to have the nurse apprehended, insisting instead on allowing the nurse to leave after recognizing the damage caused by the injection.
In a conversation with blogger Bukky Jesse, Mohbad’s father did not hold back as he criticized Wunmi’s account. He asserted that he had never encountered the nurse implicated in Mohbad’s death. He described a scenario of isolation, revealing that Wunmi, along with his estranged wife, Bose, and his younger son, Adura, had constructed a barrier of silence around him during Mohbad’s ordeal, effectively excluding him until the very end.
Joseph Aloba noted that he and Wunmi had not communicated for an extended period, even prior to Mohbad’s death. He stated that the only interaction since his son’s passing was a phone call during which Wunmi directed a barrage of insults at him. He added that, apart from that contentious conversation, the only member of Wunmi’s family he had spoken to in recent weeks was her father.
