Maresca gives Chelsea injury boost as Felix, Lavia set for Everton test

Chelsea’s impressive run under Enzo Maresca continues, but injuries remain a concern as they prepare for their weekend clash against Everton.

With five consecutive Premier League victories and a Europa Conference League last-16 berth secured, the Blues are riding high despite a depleted squad.

Forward Joao Felix missed Chelsea’s last two games, including the Europa Conference League win over Astana and the Brentford victory on Sunday.

However, Manager Enzo Maresca has expressed optimism, about his imminent return stating, “Joao Felix can probably be available for the next one [against Everton].”

Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia, sidelined since sustaining a knock during the December 9 clash against Tottenham, is also nearing a return.

Maresca indicated that Lavia, like Felix, could feature against Everton.

On the contrary, Benoit
Badiashile’s absence is the latest blow for Chelsea.

The defender reportedly picked up an injury during training ahead of the Brentford game, forcing Maresca to field summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo.

The timeline for Badiashile’s return remains uncertain as Maresca revealed, “Benoit had a problem yesterday during the session. For now, we do not know how long he will be out.”
