Bayern Munich’s injury woes continue to mount, with captain and first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer officially ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Inter Milan.
The veteran shot-stopper has not recovered from a calf injury and remains sidelined as Bayern prepare for a make-or-break clash at the Allianz Arena.
According to Bild, Neuer has been unable to participate in training involving high-intensity movement and will not be fit in time to face Inter.
Jonas Urbig, who started the first leg, will once again deputise between the sticks.
This setback compounds Bayern’s existing injury crisis, with defensive stalwarts Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies already ruled out for the rest of the season.
Jamal Musiala is also racing against time to feature in the final stretch of the campaign.
While Neuer is now targeting a return for a potential Champions League semifinal at the end of April, he remains a doubt for this weekend’s Bundesliga fixture against Heidenheim.
