A Nigerian man has shared a shocking account of an encounter during a recruitment exercise at a hotel, where an applicant offered herself to him in exchange for a job.
The story was shared in a lengthy post on X (formerly Twitter).
According to the man, he was tasked with hiring an assistant for his role at a production company in Lagos. His boss had specifically requested that the assistant be female.
After reviewing a list of applicants provided by HR, he scheduled interviews to take place at a hotel in Jibowu.
After the interviews, while he was about to leave the hotel, one of the female applicants called him over.
She invited him to the outdoor bar for a brief conversation, where she shocked him by offering herself in exchange for the job.
She allegedly said, “Sir, I am willing to f**k you for this job. Nobody will know. But if you agree and give me the job, you can’t ask me again.”
Stunned, the man rejected her offer, telling her that he wasn’t the one making the final decision and that it wouldn’t be wise to engage in such a situation, especially if she didn’t get the job. The applicant thanked him and left.
The man proceeded to recommend a more qualified candidate to HR and his boss.
Amonth later, when the new staff member was about to start, he was surprised to see the same woman who had propositioned him.
He later discovered that she was, in fact, his boss’s cousin.
Reflecting on the experience, he questioned whether it had been a setup or some kind of test, leaving him puzzled about the motives behind the encounter.
His statement: “I don’t know if I should say this.”
“A few years ago, while working as a manager for a production company in Lagos.”
“I was to get an assistant to work under me, my boss gave me the liberty to recruit this person myself. The HR consultant gave me a list of names and contact info.”
“For some reason my boss insisted that the assistant should be female.”
“Anyway, I contacted all the persons on the list, and scheduled interviews. The interview took place at a hotel in Jibowu. All on the same day.”
“I stayed back at the hotel after the interview for a few minutes. While I was heading out of the hotel premises someone called out to me and when I looked back it was one of the applicants. She asked if I could give her a few minutes, I agreed.”
“We went to the outdoor bar to have a conversation. As I found my seat she said she won’t take my time And went forward to say something that has still haunted me till today! I can’t forget those words.”
“Sir, I am willing to fvxk you for this job. Nobody will know. But if you agree and give me the job, you can’t ask me again”
“My eyes were wide. Then she said “I am serious”.
“I simply said it won’t come to that. I lied to her that it wasn’t me who made the final decisions, so it wouldn’t be ideal if we engaged in that and she didn’t get the job.”
“She told me thanks, got up and left! I sent the name of a more qualified candidate to the HR & Boss. Fast forward a month later, the day the new staff was meant to resume. I saw the lady who propositioned me! I was wondering what was happening.”
“I had questions. After I left the company, I found out she is my Bosses cousin 🤣🤣🤣 Imagine!”
“A set up? A test? But why?”
