  • Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has criticized the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for a grammatical error in a social media post.
  • The actress, who previously used Twitter, corrected a mistake on X and urged JAMB to be more cautious with their communication.

Popular Nollywood actress Kate Amaka Henshaw, widely known as Kate Henshaw, has publicly criticized the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for a grammatical mistake in one of their recent social media posts.

Taking to the platform X (formerly Twitter), the actress corrected the board’s error and urged them to be more meticulous in their communications.

The controversy began after JAMB released a statement to clarify the start time for an upcoming examination, writing:
“@PeterObi, Your Excellency, I must assert that our examination is scheduled to commence at 8:00 am, not 6:00 am. While verification and other clearance processes begins at 6:30 am, it is imperative that candidates are afforded adequate time…”

Pointing out the mistake, Henshaw quoted JAMB’s post and wrote:
“By the way @JAMBHQ, it’s not ‘while verification and other clearance processes BEGINS.’ It is ‘while verification and other clearance processes BEGIN!! I had all my education in this country. It was never this bad.”

While many overlooked the grammatical slip, Henshaw’s correction quickly drew attention online. Her post ignited a broader discussion about the importance of clear and correct communication, particularly from official government agencies.
