“It’s all over now, all is forgiven”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said he has forgiven Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and is no longer angry, declaring, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven.”

The reconciliation reportedly took place during a private meeting with members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), led by chairman Prince Tajudeen Olusi.

The gathering, held at the President’s Ikoyi residence in Lagos, was part of an Eid-el-Kabir homage visit.

Though President Tinubu did not address the cause of the rift, he warmly accepted the plea for forgiveness presented by the GAC delegation.

A source close to the meeting said;

“The meeting didn’t entertain a situation where the president or the governor had to start explaining what happened between them.

”They just pleaded for outright mercy on behalf of the governor, and the president granted it.”

Sources at the closed-door meeting also revealed that Sanwo-Olu and other top Lagos politicians prostrated before the president as a gesture of remorse and submission.

The delegation included Lagos Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi; Senators Tokunbo Abiru and Ganiyu Solomon; and party stalwart Cardinal James Odunmbaku.

While addressing the president, Olusi acknowledged the visible strain between the president and some Lagos politicians, especially the governor, and appealed for peace and understanding going forward.

In response to the plea, President Tinubu said;

“It’s all over now. All is forgiven.”

This development comes after weeks of speculation about their relationship, especially following a viral video in May where Tinubu appeared to ignore Sanwo-Olu at the inauguration of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

In the video, the president greeted several dignitaries but seemingly bypassed the Lagos governor.
