Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), has responded to recent claims concerning his alleged arrest by the Nigerian Police.
Earlier reports suggested that Pastor Idowu had been detained in relation to real estate fraud and money laundering. However, in a video message shared with his congregation on December 8, 2024, he clarified that he was not arrested but rather invited to assist in an investigation.
In his remarks, Pastor Bolaji indicated that the inquiry pertains to a church member facing allegations of financial impropriety, although he chose not to disclose any names.
He also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the steadfast support from his congregation during this difficult period, highlighting that the investigation remains active.
Pastor Bolaji reaffirmed his dedication to fully cooperating with law enforcement while exercising caution regarding the identities of those involved.
He stated, “Let me be clear: I was invited to assist, not arrested. The Police reached out to me to help with an investigation concerning a church member facing some issues.
“There’s so much more I would like to share, but since this case is still under investigation, I must respect the privacy of those involved. These individuals have families—wives, children, and relatives. If I were to name anyone now, it could cause irreparable harm to their lives.
“I trust the Police to handle the situation while I step back to allow them to do their work.
“Thank you for your continued trust and support, even before the facts were made clear.”
