Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian music artist Mohbad, has asserted that she is “the most bullied widow” in Nigeria.
She accused her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, of harassing her and inciting others against her by insisting on a DNA test for her son, Liam.
In an appearance on TVC’s program Your View, Omowunmi remarked, “I have nothing to hide. I don’t have an issue with my father-in-law asking me for a DNA test, but it’s the way he is going about it. Presently, I am the most bullied widow in Nigeria.”
She recalled that she and her father-in-law shared a close friendship prior to her husband’s death. She highlighted that he had urged both her and her late husband to have a child when they were not prepared, using fasting and prayer as means of influence.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and within a day of his untimely death, his father, Joseph Aloba, arranged for his burial in Ikorodu, Lagos State. His remains were exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy due to the controversies surrounding his demise.
The autopsy results are still awaited, but Joseph Aloba has previously indicated that his son’s body will only be reinterred once the autopsy findings are available and a DNA test is performed on his grandson, Liam, to confirm his paternity.
