This milestone beats the record set by Akindele’s earlier film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” which was the top film in 2023. Last year, “
A Tribe Called Judah” earned more than N1 billion at the Nigerian box office.
The Nigerian Box Office took to X to celebrate the new record, stating that “Everybody Loves Jenifa” broke box office records yesterday. It had the highest opening day for a Nollywood film, bringing in ₦45.2M! The update also pointed out that the film had 9,409 admissions, surpassing “A Tribe Called Judah,” even though it wasn’t shown at Genesis and had limited screenings at Silverbird Cinemas.
