Nigerian music sensation Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has expressed deep appreciation for being part of Olamide’s record label, YBNL Nation (Yahoo Boy No Laptop).

During a recent appearance on the 90s Baby Show podcast, the “Peru” hitmaker opened up about his musical journey, life experiences, and how he joined YBNL.

Interestingly, Fireboy revealed that his signing to the label happened quite informally—via WhatsApp. According to him, he had been a long-time admirer of Olamide’s work when he unexpectedly received a message asking if he’d be interested in joining YBNL. Although hesitant at first, he asked some questions before eventually being told to message a certain number. Once he did, he was officially welcomed to the label.

Reflecting on the experience, Fireboy admitted that the casual process left him surprised. “I kept wondering if that’s really how things work,” he said.

When asked during the podcast whether he ever fought with his brothers, the artist made it clear that physical altercations were not his style. “These hands are meant for counting money and taking care of women,” he joked.

The singer also spoke proudly about his accomplishments. He revealed that he owns two houses in Lagos—one he resides in and another used for business. As for cars, Fireboy shared that he’s a fan of Mercedes-Benz and currently owns three: an S580, a G-Wagon, and a V-Class.

The conversation offered a glimpse into the artist’s grounded personality and the lifestyle he’s built through music, showing both his gratitude and growth since joining YBNL.
