I believe they were having a Friday vigil. Some of the worshippers had fallen asleep to rest before the vigil began when the fire broke out.” Another witness described the heartbreaking scene, stating, “There was an elderly woman inside the church who was so old that she could barely move. She was still inside when the fire was raging.”

A church member, speaking anonymously, added, “There were still people inside the church when the fire started. I’ll provide more information later.”

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Akinyemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services, confirmed the incident, saying, “Our team responded after receiving information from one Kunle Junaid.” He assured that further updates would be provided.
