Father of late JAMB student presses JAMB to reveal daughter’s ‘real’ exam score

Femi Opesusi, the father of 19-year-old Timilehin Opesusi, who sadly took her life after getting her 2025 UTME result, has made a heartfelt plea to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the release of what he believes is his daughter’s true score.

In an emotional interview with Channels Television, Mr. Opesusi accused the examination body of hiding or altering his daughter’s result, which he claims did not accurately reflect her performance.

Timilehin, who lived with her older sister in Ikorodu, Lagos, was one of over 300,000 candidates impacted by a nationwide technical glitch that disrupted the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) at various centres earlier this year. Although she scored 190 in the 2024 UTME, her 2025 score was logged as 146, a difference that left her heartbroken.

“She kept saying, ‘Daddy, this is not my result,’” Mr. Opesusi remembered.

Despite his attempts to reassure her that the issue could be fixed, tragedy struck just hours later.

“They have never called me, they have never granted me an interview, they have never said anything to me. I don’t want to see them. What I want is the actual result of my daughter, that’s the only thing,” Mr. Opesusi said.

He made it clear that he is not seeking compensation or an apology, only the transparency he believes his late daughter deserves.
