Dangote Refinery, retailers set to ensure fuel availability during festivity

Dr. Joseph Obele, the National PRO of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), has announced a strategic business agreement with Dangote Refinery to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply during the Yuletide.

In a statement on Friday, Obele revealed that PETROAN’s National President, Dr. Billy Hary, led the association’s negotiation team to a successful meeting with the management of Dangote Refinery on December 2, 2024, in Lagos.

The deal followed a buyer-seller agreement that reserves monthly fuel volumes for PETROAN members at favourable rates.

Obele expressed confidence in PETROAN’s zero-fuel scarcity strategy, spearheaded by its distribution technical committee, to prevent shortages during the festive period. He assured Nigerians that efforts with Dangote Refinery and the Port Harcourt Refinery would keep the market well-supplied.

“We are happy that Nigerians will travel effortlessly this season,” he stated, adding that PETROAN dismissed fears of fuel scarcity and cautioned against panic buying.

Dr. Billy Hary praised the Vice President of Dangote Group and Managing Director of Dangote Refinery, Devakumar Edwin, for his support in ensuring petroleum product availability.

Obele reaffirmed PETROAN’s commitment to supporting key stakeholders like NNPC Retail Ltd. and Dangote Refinery to sustain supply across the country, urging stakeholders to work collaboratively for market stability.

Nationwide, PETROAN retail outlets have been placed on green alert, ready to serve Nigerians efficiently throughout the festive season and beyond.
