In other news, Popular luxury verification platform, T20Luxury, has stirred social media buzz after calling out Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe for allegedly displaying counterfeit fashion accessories.

The Instagram-based page, known for exposing fake designer pieces, shared a photo of the actress showing off a handbag they claimed was not authentic. In the post, T20Luxury cautioned Aigbe to be more mindful about purchasing counterfeit luxury items.

The scrutiny didn’t stop there — the page also questioned the originality of her designer sunglasses, hinting that more of her accessories may be replicas.

The post has since sparked debate online, with fans and critics weighing in on the authenticity of celebrities’ fashion choices. Mercy Aigbe, as of now, has not responded to the claims.

They wrote …

“Dear Mercy Aigbe, this is NOT a genuine LV Capucines. Even the authenticity of the eyewear is questionable.

“We recognise that, as a celebrity, you may depend on the expertise of a stylist or personal shopper to curate your wardrobe and accessories. However, we trust that you understand the negative impact of counterfeit goods on creativity, particularly given your influential role within the creative industry. We encourage you to conduct due diligence when hiring a stylist”
