Nigerian doctor Chinonso Egemba, known as Aproko doctor, has expressed his concerns about the poor state of health centers in Nigeria.
In a video shared on Monday, he highlighted the rundown conditions of many primary healthcare facilities in the country.
He expressed sadness that the place where women should feel safe giving birth is in poor condition, putting both their lives and their babies’ lives at risk.
He also pointed out the shortage of necessary medical supplies to improve the delivery experience.
One of the health center’s employees revealed that when women come to give birth at night and there is no light, they utilize the torch lights on their phones.
He urged the administration to tackle the renovation of primary healthcare facilities in the country seriously.
According to him, primary healthcare centers are the initial stage of care in serious countries.
He stated, “Our leaders can do better. The primary health care centers are the bedrock of our healthcare.
This is not a doctor’s problem, it’s a Nigerians problem. It’s our job to demand for better healthcare.”
