In other news, Popular Nigerian actor and social activist, Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, has pushed back against All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters who continue to involve his name in controversies over celebrities engaging with political leaders.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the outspoken entertainer vented his frustration in a series of posts, making it clear that he has never condemned anyone for associating with politicians and should not be used as a measuring stick for others.
“I’ve said this countless times I’m nobody’s hero! I’m not a saint! We all have our flaws,” he wrote.
Mr. Macaroni accused what he described as “APC rascals” of consistently misrepresenting his stance in order to attack other public figures. He clarified that his personal decision to avoid political affiliations does not mean others who choose differently are wrong.
“It’s simply a matter of choice. It’s unfair to hold anyone to standards I set for myself,” he explained.
Despite the recurring criticisms, Mr. Macaroni commended chess champion Tunde Onakoya — who recently visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu calling his humanitarian work “tremendously inspiring” and urging Nigerians to support one another in their own way.
In response to APC loyalists questioning why he never attends political events, Mr. Macaroni disclosed that he has received numerous invitations from all levels of government but has turned every single one down.
“Invitations choke on different levels!!! But I promise, you will continue to cry, weep and gnash your teeth because all will be continuously declined,” he stated firmly.
He also questioned why being respected online often turns into a reason for political trolls to insult him. “Na another person talk am but na me dem go start to dey insult… Awon Osinwin dede!!!” he exclaimed.
Wrapping up his comments, Mr. Macaroni reiterated that he is not a role model for how celebrities should behave politically and urged people to stop expecting him to represent ideals he never claimed.
“Please again, I am no one’s hero! I am not a saint! I am not the standard… I speak up for what I believe in and not for anyone’s validation. I hope this puts this matter to rest…,” he concluded.
