Amusan clocks season’s best at Racers Grand Prix Jamaica

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan recorded her fastest 100m time of the 2025 season with an 11.18s finish at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica.

Competing in just her second flat 100m race this year, Amusan placed fourth in a strong field at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver event, shaving a tenth of a second off her previous season’s best of 11.28s.

Running from lane two, the reigning world 100m hurdles champion, now training under Glen Mills at Racers Track Club, demonstrated continued progress in her transition into sprinting.

The performance marks her best since clocking a personal best of 11.10s in 2023.

The women’s final was won by Jamaica’s Tina Clayton, who posted a 10.98s effort, followed by American Jacious Sears (11.04s) and Jamaican teenager Alana Reid (11.16s).

All top-four finishers, including Amusan, recorded season-best times in front of a 15,000-strong crowd.
