Nollywood veteran Segun Arinze has revealed the reasons behind his departure from the music industry, emphasizing that it was not a result of failure but rather a conscious decision to dedicate himself to his acting career.

During an appearance on the show ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask,’ hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Arinze provided an overview of his professional journey.

“I didn’t fail as a musical artist. I left music on my own volition. If I wanted to do music, I would have continued,” he explained. “I read theatre art at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. After school, I ventured into music on my own terms. When I decided to concentrate on my acting career, I gave it my all.”

Arinze, who produced two albums while active in the music industry, expressed intentions to return to music.

Nevertheless, he stressed that his return would be motivated by his love for singing rather than commercial aspirations.

“I can always go back to music. I didn’t fail. The voice is still there,” he said. “I will be going back to music, but I won’t be coming into it for commercial reasons. I will return to music just because I want to sing, not because I want to make money.”
