The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has canceled the arrest warrant for Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu Thankgod, who manages gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
GistLover reports that Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the former manager of the gospel singer, is in a dispute with her due to fraud accusations.
Chinwo accused Onyedikachukwu of misappropriating her $345,000.
As a result, a Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an arrest warrant for Onyedikachukwu.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed a motion against Onyedikachukwu, claiming he misused funds and did not pay royalties from Chinwo’s digital music and event profits.
However, on Friday, the commission requested to cancel the arrest warrant after a request from their lawyer, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari.
In other news, A Nigerian individual, Sunday Omisakin, who received a pardon from Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has been detained at the Ilesa Correctional Facility for allegedly breaking into a residence and stealing a television valued at ₦600,000, just eight days after his pardon for a previous theft of chickens.
Omisakin was identified as number 8 on the governor’s prerogative of mercy list, which was signed on December 26, 2024, and he had been granted clemency for a lesser offense.
However, on January 3, 2025, he was apprehended for allegedly committing burglary in Osogbo and stealing the television.
The accused was brought before the Osun State Magistrate Court in Osogbo, where Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba presided over the case, which included two charges of burglary and theft.
Omisakin has been remanded in custody while awaiting further court proceedings.
