Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo has lauded Everton’s defense following the Blues’ 0-0 draw at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Despite Chelsea’s status as the Premier League’s most prolific attacking team with 37 goals in 17 games, they struggled to break down the Toffees, who have emerged as one of the league’s strongest defensive sides outside the top four.
Speaking after the match, Adarabioyo highlighted the difficulty of facing Everton, who have managed seven clean sheets in their last ten league outings.
“It was very difficult. Everton are one of the best teams at keeping clean sheets, and we are one of the best at scoring,” he told Premier League Productions via BBC.
Adarabioyo also pointed to challenging weather conditions in the first half but praised his team’s determination.
“The first half was very difficult with the weather, but we showed fighting spirit. We are having a good run and are full of confidence. We will keep on pushing.”
The Nigerian defender played a key role in Chelsea’s defensive performance, making a crucial block to deny Iliman Ndiaye in the six-yard box.
While the draw extends Chelsea’s unbeaten run, it also guarantees Liverpool will remain top of the Premier League table at Christmas.
