Arsenal crush Crystal Palace 5-1 to reclaim top three spot

Arsenal picked a dominant 5-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, climbing back into the Premier League’s top three.

Gabriel Jesus was the standout performer, scoring twice in the opening 14 minutes to lead the Gunners to a commanding win.

The Brazilian opened the scoring in the sixth minute after Bukayo Saka’s cross, but Palace responded quickly through Ismaila Sarr, who curled home an equalizer five minutes later.

Jesus restored Arsenal’s lead in the 14th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to smash in his second of the night.

Kai Havertz extended the advantage in the 37th minute, reacting first to a rebound off the post to make it 3-1 before halftime.

Arsenal continued their dominance in the second half with Declan Rice marking his return from injury by scoring twice.

His first, a deflected strike in the 58th minute, came just moments after coming on as a substitute, while his second, a curling effort in the 85th minute, sealed the rout.

The loss leaves Palace winless at home in seven weeks and just four points above the relegation zone.

Arsenal now shift focus to their next fixture against Ipswich, looking to sustain their push for the title.
