A Nigerian man allegedly stole an iPhone 16 from his girlfriend’s friend after his girlfriend asked him to buy the same model.
The story was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where user @PH_Socials posted a video recounting the troubling incident.
In the video, a woman explains how her boyfriend initially claimed he couldn’t afford the new iPhone 16 after its release. However, after she encouraged him to find the money like other men do, he later gave her a phone.
She soon realized the device was not hers—it belonged to her friend, whose hostel had recently been broken into. The phone was locked with a password that she couldn’t bypass, but her friend was able to unlock it instantly, confirming its true ownership.
She stated: “My friend said some guys came to her house yesterday, robbed and took her iPhone 16. I tried many passwords, it didn’t open, but when my friend tried, it unlocked.”
