Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has once again sparked online buzz after sharing a cryptic video themed around sacrifices on his Instagram page.
The iconic actor, popularly known for his ritual roles in Nollywood films, posted a video of himself and a colleague dressed in black-and-white attire while performing traditional chants and dances in a dimly lit red-and-black room.
Captioning the post, Kanayo wrote:
“Unto say June is for Sacrifices.
Sacrifices must be made.
Nnanyi Sacrifice says so.”
The video quickly garnered attention across social media, with fans reacting in amusement and curiosity many referencing his popular on-screen title, “Nnanyi Sacrifice.”
While some saw the post as a continuation of his Nollywood persona, others debated whether it was part of a new movie project or simply a symbolic post marking the new month.
Regardless of the intent, Kanayo once again reminded fans of his unmatched reputation for ritual-themed roles in Nigerian cinema.

In other news, Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has been honoured with the prestigious Diamond Award at the inaugural Billboard Global Power Players event held in London.
The ceremony, which spotlighted key figures shaping the global music industry, saw Tems celebrated alongside legendary artist Sir Elton John and EMPIRE founder Ghazi Shami.
While accepting the award, Tems expressed her deep appreciation to Billboard for championing African music and culture on a global stage. She acknowledged the growing influence of African sounds worldwide and credited Billboard for being instrumental in its rise.
“Being African and a musician is a whole new world,” Tems shared. “I feel like Billboard has been incredibly supportive of not just African music, but the entire scene and its culture.
This is truly an honour, especially at a time when African music is reaching new heights globally. Billboard is definitely one of the major forces helping push that forward.”
In addition to Tems, Sir Elton John was awarded the Creators’ Champion Award, while Ghazi Shami received the Clive Davis Visionary Award, which was presented by Nigerian star Olamide.
The event also marked the launch of Billboard’s first-ever UK Power Players chart, celebrating music leadership and innovation in the UK and beyond.
