Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor has addressed the criticism she faced for opting to marry in her husband’s church rather than her own.
The Asaba-born star tied the knot with her partner, Moc Madu, in a stunning ceremony held at St. Philips Anglican Church — which is her husband’s place of worship.
Responding to those questioning why the wedding wasn’t held in her church, Ruby clarified her decision with heartfelt sincerity. She highlighted that her husband fully committed to her and is the head of their family, making the choice of his church significant.
“Yes, I wedded at St. Philips Anglican Church, my husband’s church,” Ruby stated. “For those saying it should be in the woman’s church, when it’s your turn, do as it pleases you.”
She went on to express her deep love and respect for Moc Madu, affectionately referring to him as “My King.” She also urged critics to stop dragging her unnecessarily over the matter.
Ruby ended her message with a romantic note, calling their marriage “a love story written in heaven,” and added, “Two hearts… one soul. ASAONWA2025. JESUS WE LOVE YOU.”
