  • The wife questions double standards after her husband’s infidelity is overlooked, but her single affair sparks outrage.
  • The woman utilized a relationship platform to express her distress over her situation.

A frustrated wife has called out what she describes as a glaring double standard in how her infidelity was treated compared to her husband’s repeated betrayals.

Sharing her story anonymously on a relationship platform, the woman revealed that her husband had cheated on her at least 12 times over the course of their marriage. During that time, he fathered two children outside their union and exposed her to multiple sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Despite enduring the pain and humiliation, she said no serious family meetings were ever held to address his behavior. She chose to stay, hoping to preserve the marriage.

However, after deciding to cheat just once and taking precautions by using protection. The reaction from both her husband and family members was swift and severe. Since her confession, she claims the family has held several meetings to shame her, while ignoring her husband’s long history of infidelity.

She wrote …

“Hi Auntie Momoza. Please keep me anonymous. My husband cheated on me 12 times that I know of. He made 2 kids outside our marriage and we are taking care of them. I got at least 4 STIs from him. No family meeting was called and I stayed. I cheated on him once…just once and I used protection. We have been attending family meetings every week since then and I’m called names. I didn’t fall pregnant, I didn’t get him sick…nothing. Why am I being vilified and he’s not?”

Her story has sparked online discussions around gender inequality in relationships, with many condemning the selective outrage often directed at women in situations of mutual wrongdoing.
