- I Go Save, a comedian, has urged the Federal government to ban smoking in public spaces.
Popular Nigerian comedian, I Go Save, has appealed to the Federal Government to place a ban on smoking in public areas, citing its growing influence on young Nigerians.
Taking to his Instagram page, the comedian expressed concern about how widespread smoking has become, especially among the youth. He argued that public smoking not only promotes unhealthy behavior but also normalizes the act for impressionable minds.
According to I Go Save, a stronger regulatory stance is needed to protect the younger generation from adopting smoking habits simply because it’s so common in public places.
“Make federal government ban smoking in public areas! The influence on our youth is becoming too much,” he wrote.
While his call has received support from some Nigerians who share his concerns, others believe the issue requires more nuanced solutions, including public awareness campaigns and education on substance abuse.
In other news, Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has opened up about her recent decision to unfollow her husband, David Oyekanmi, on Instagram, as well as deleting their wedding photos — a move that had sparked widespread speculation about trouble in their marriage.
The couple, who tied the knot in March 2024, became a trending topic online after fans noticed Queen had removed all traces of their wedding from her page and unfollowed her husband, leading many to assume a marital crisis was brewing.
However, in a video shared on her page, Queen clarified her intentions, revealing that the decision was made to preserve the health of her marriage — not because of any underlying issues.
According to her, she wanted to take her relationship off social media after noticing the amount of attention her husband was receiving, including direct messages from women sending both compliments and inappropriate remarks.
“I was trying to take my marriage off social media because my husband’s handle is out there,” she explained. “A lot of ladies were sliding into his DMs with both positive and negative things.”
She emphasized that the move was purely protective. “I just want to protect my marriage and reduce some of the things I put out there,” she added.
Queen’s comments have since calmed concerns from fans who feared the couple was experiencing a fallout so soon after their wedding.
