A wave of sadness has spread across social media after the unexpected passing of a young Nigerian man known as @BasketballProfe, a well-liked basketball punter who gained a following for his betting insights.
The young man had previously mentioned his health issues, stating he would be taking a break from online activities.
In a short message, he said, “Sick. Won’t be here for now.”
Soon after, he posted a picture from a hospital bed, showing his hand with medical tubing taped instead of using plaster, a detail that sparked discussion online.
He wrote under the photo, “First time ever. It is well.”
Tragically, just a few hours later, a close friend confirmed his death. Although the exact reason for his illness and death was not revealed, tributes have flooded in from followers, friends, and fans, many expressing shock and sorrow.
