Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has responded to a fan’s inquiry about her convincing portrayal of a ‘runs girl’ character in Mercy Aigbe’s new movie, Thinline.

The fan, identified as Damilola Made, took to X (formerly Twitter) to question whether Yvonne had personal experience as a prostitute, given how seamlessly she embodied the role.

Reacting to the post, Yvonne admitted that she was startled when she first saw her name mentioned alongside the word “ashawo.”

“I just woke up, picked up my phone, and this is what I saw. Immediately, I saw my name and saw ‘ashawo,’ sleep cleared from my eyes. I thought, ‘I don commit again.’ Thanks for the review. Thinline is an all-round beautiful story; make it a date,” she responded with a mix of humor and professionalism.

Her comical reply has drawn praise from fans, who admired her ability to handle criticism with grace while promoting the movie.

It is worth noting that Thinline faced a bit of challenge and public opinions after its release clashed with Funke Akindele’s ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa.’
