Students Take JAMB to Court –

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is facing legal action due to the abnormally low UTME scores reported by numerous candidates who contend that their results do not accurately represent their actual performance.

This situation was announced in a post on the widely used social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter)

. A user by the name of @winexviv has encouraged candidates who believe their UTME results were either manipulated or incorrectly submitted to complete a form that would facilitate legal proceedings.

The objective is to compel the court to require JAMB to disclose the marking scheme and scoring criteria utilized during the examination.

This initiative comes in the wake of significant public outcry following the release of the 2024 UTME results, which indicated that more than half a million candidates scored below 200 out of a possible 400.

Many candidates expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, asserting that the scores they received did not accurately reflect their efforts or the results of their mock examinations, with some even alleging that the results may have been tampered with.

In light of the ongoing grievances, @winexviv has called upon affected candidates to participate in the legal process, emphasizing the importance of their support.

“If you are a student concerned that your JAMB score is significantly lower than expected, and you are confident there’s an error, please fill this form.”

The post quickly gained traction, attracting reactions from concerned individuals who flooded the comment section to share their experiences and opinions.
