In his message, Akpabio expressed his admiration for Nigerian workers, acknowledging their steadfast commitment and resilience despite the ongoing socio-economic challenges.
He recognized the crucial role that workers play in the nation’s development and growth, praising their dedication even during difficult times.
In a statement from his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio emphasized that, under the administration of President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the 10th National Assembly, workers’ rights would be safeguarded.
The Senate President further assured that no worker would face victimization for advocating for their rights or seeking legal recourse under his leadership.
“Today, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of Nigerian workers. We, in the Senate—and the National Assembly—recognize your invaluable contributions to our nation’s development,” Akpabio said.
“Under our watch, no Nigerian worker will be victimized for expressing themselves, whether they are demanding their rights or seeking legal redress.”
He also commended workers for their perseverance despite the challenges they face, acknowledging their significant role in driving the economy forward.
“Despite obvious difficulties, you remain the backbone of our economy. I salute your unwavering commitment to excellence and productivity. Your contributions are vital to our nation’s progress,” Akpabio stated.
The Senate President assured workers that the 10th National Assembly would continue to prioritize their welfare, focusing on labor-friendly legislation to improve working conditions and uphold their rights.
“Nigerian workers are our pride, and we will not shy away from our responsibility to work with the Executive to address your concerns and create opportunities for growth and prosperity. Together, we will build a brighter future for Nigerian workers and our great nation,” Akpabio added.
“On behalf of my family, constituents, and the 10th National Assembly, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the workers and wish them a fruitful and peaceful celebration,” he concluded.
