Tinubu hosts Ghana’s president-elect, Mahama in Abuja


President Bola Tinubu on Monday hosted Ghana’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The visit was confirmed by Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, on Tuesday, December 17.

“The President-Elect of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama paid a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at his residence, Presidential Villa, State House Yesterday,” he wrote via X on Tuesday.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (ECG), through its chairperson Jane Mensa, officially declared John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the winner of Ghana’s 2024 presidential election last Monday in Accra.

According to the declared results, Mahama polled 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total votes to defeat his closest rival, and incumbent vice president, Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling National Patriotic Party (NPP), who scored 4,657,304 votes representing 41.6%.
