Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan blames Akpabio, Confirms Gunmen Attack on Family Home in Kogi –

Embattled Kogi Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has confirmed an attack on her family home by unidentified gunmen in the early hours of Thursday, April 17, 2025.

Reports indicate that the assailants, armed with guns and machetes, stormed her ancestral home in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State around 1:00 a.m., vandalizing property and shattering windows. The Senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, reported the incident to security authorities.

In a statement issued by her Chief Press Secretary, Arogbonlo Israel, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a cowardly act likely linked to her recent allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

She called on the Inspector General of Police to reinstate her security personnel, who were earlier withdrawn, warning that her safety is now under threat.

Narrating the event, Akpoti-Uduaghan disclosed that her younger brother had taken some contractors to inspect project sites in her constituency earlier in the week. Believing she was present, the attackers struck later that night.

Fortunately, local vigilantes and civil defence operatives intervened quickly, preventing casualties. A formal report has been lodged with the police.

The Senator urged the public to stay calm and continue supporting the fight for justice.
