Elon Musk reportedly offered conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair a one-time $15 million payment and $100,000 per month to keep their baby a secret.
In February, St. Clair posted, “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father.” She added,
“I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety,” and, “I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy and refrain from invasive reporting.”
According to The Wall Street Journal, Musk’s aide offered the deal in exchange for secrecy, with their son named Romulus and Musk’s name left off the birth certificate. A paternity test showed a “probability of paternity” of 99.9999%.
In a text to St. Clair, Musk allegedly said he’s “#2 after Trump for assassination,” and added, “only the paranoid survive.” She declined the offer, feeling it would make her son feel “illegitimate.”
Musk reportedly dropped the $15M offer and reduced monthly payments from $100K to $20K. In March, he stated, “I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but am not against finding out. No court order is needed. Despite not knowing for sure, I have given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500k/year.”
