In other news, Rapper Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, has been convicted of murder for the second time after a jury found him guilty of fatally shooting Mark Anthony Saldivar, a San Antonio man, in 2017. Tay-K, already serving a 55-year sentence for a previous fatal shooting, now faces life in prison with the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors contended that Tay-K shot Saldivar during an attempted robbery. However, the defense criticized the investigation, suggesting that the case relied too heavily on self-serving witness statements. One of Tay-K’s attorneys, John Hunter, argued that the case was mishandled and lacked sufficient evidence.
Although Tay-K was acquitted of capital murder, which would have resulted in life imprisonment without parole, he still faces a lengthy prison sentence. The jury is currently deliberating on the appropriate punishment after hearing additional evidence.
