Tension erupted in Ibadan’s Oke Ado area as angry users stormed the local office of CBEX, a digital trading platform, following its sudden crash that left many with zero balances in their accounts.
A viral video shows a mob ransacking the office, carting away everything from tables and couches to office equipment, in what appears to be a desperate reaction to their financial losses.
Many investors say they’ve lost huge sums and are devastated. While some are grieving, others have turned their anger toward the company’s physical offices.
CBEX has yet to issue an official statement.
